BTC Head Tennis Professional Lynne Rolley has 40 years of teaching and coaching experience at every level. She has been Director of Women's Tennis for the United States, coached the Fed Cup and National Teams and was named PTR National Coach of the year. She is a renowned speaker and writer for Tennis magazine as well as many other publications. Lynne has also appeared on Tennis Channel with her own academy show. She spent many years coaching top players such as Lindsay Davenport and Jennifer Capriati. In her early years, she was the Men's Coach at St. Mary's College, Director of Tennis at Moraga Country Club and Sleepy Hollow Tennis Club. As a junior player, Lynne won many gold balls and was ranked in the top 10 women in the USTA.
Roger Kahn, USPTA Pro 1, certified since 1976. Roger's tennis experience includes teaching "grass roots" tennis in city housing projects and recreation programs and Head pro positions at local tennis clubs. He has presented seminars at USPTA and USTA conferences and worked as a USTA Umpire at major tournaments, including a Davis Cup final.
Roger is a ranked tournament player and remains active in local and national tennis competition. He has received Player of the Year awards from both the USTA and USPTA.
Continued participation in USPTA and USTA educational seminars and conferences helps keep Roger current with modern tennis and sports science.
Roger loves tennis, enjoys people and is dedicated to the learning process with all ages and levels of ability. His enthusiastic fun approach to tennis emphasizes sportsmanship and a well rounded understanding of the game.
Denton Desquitadowas born and raised in New Jersey. Denton graduated from the Palmer/Harry Hopman Tennis Academy in Tampa, FL. He competed at the National level throughout his junior years. He attended the college of William and Mary but took a sabbatical from his studies to focus on full time competitive tennis. He competed in the Satellite/Futures tour, German Team Tennis as well as tournaments in the USA and Southeast Asia. He’s fortunate to have worked with some of the most renowned coaches in Tennis. He was a tennis professional at the Harry Hopman Tennis Academy as well as the Harbour Island Athletic Club in Tampa, FL. Denton completed his Bachelors, MBA and Masters in Science at the University of South Florida. He has been involved in the Software Development predominately focused in military organizations. Currently, he is a contractor to the Coast Guard in Alameda.
Shawn Brown joins BTC as an associate coach, after being the long time Head Tennis Professional at Blackhawk Country Club. Shawn has an extensive teaching background, specializing in junior development and 10 and Under tennis. He has previously held positions at several high profile clubs nationwide and coached in USTA's National Jr. Development Programs. Shawn is considered one of the finest on-court teaching professionals in the Bay Area. He shares his great love of teaching Juniors with a love of teaching Cardio Tennis classes and adults of all ages and abilities.
